many of you ladies I am sure loved the talk from president uchtdorf as much as I did. He has a beautiful way, like a few others, of saying the perfect thing at the perfect time for us ladies. From the moment he mentioned that lil flower I tooned in because it is one of my favorite lil flowers that I have tried to grow, or keep alive in my pot out on my porch. i love the lil aspect and the simple bright sweetness with the forget me not. Now, it has so much more meaning that we should not forget.

Leaves of Color

well you know all the colors of the rainbow..here are my favorite colors of fall..just a sweet pretty  sketch of mine, scanned in and made into a pattern/design to add a lil texture and a lil fall flavor to my designs. What is your favorite color of fall?
wouldn't these be so pretty to print on a canvas or rich heavy linen paper and frame them to add a fall decor to your house??? ohh pretty! They will be up on my etsy. I am trying to figure out how to have a free download button on here and give my readers free downloadable files...wouldnt that be fun..ALL IN FAVOR? say Aye! still on my hunt to figure that out...hopefully soon.. any help  I will take it!

Falling into fall

I do love summer but one of my favorite times of year is the fall. Our pretty mountains that we are surrounded by, the pretty colors that echo fall and ring in the holiday season...and the crisp air and yummy aromas of the food that is in season this time of year. Let's just say pumpkin apple caramel pie/cheesescake. Simply bliss and a party in my mouth :). these are the yummy smells of "home".So with fall on my mind and the many joys it brings here is a lil something somthin to bring in the fall season.

the 411 and some inside info of my process....it is always interesting how artists go about their work. I always start fresh and with hand sketches. I am always fond of drawing, sketching. It makes me happy. Once I get a solid design and I am happy with it, some times after hours or days of refining, I scan it in to my wonderful mac(apple) computer. Bring in the sketch and had either  my pictures of some amazing textures I have found or either found some textures. I love combining many resources. Quick tangent and I promise to get back :)...One of my loves and joys is oil painting on a rich or old beaten down piece of wood, let the wood shape my art. hmmm simply beautiful and a rich vintage feel. Love this. SO back to my process, after I bring in all the resources(hand sketch, textures, patterns, etc) and I apply color and add text and...VOILA!

I almost forgot ...

oops..I almost forgot..i needed to include this below...being 8 and all..a sweet sign for Ireland's room to reflect on another special part of her turning 8. :). We could easily add a sweet picture into this design too. This is a 8x10 to put in a darling frame to use for the baptism event, and also a room decor with a sweet reminder throughout the years. :) Happy Birthday lil miss!

here is the start of some cute halloween tags,- some more ideas to share with friends and family or even teh school classroom. and some sweet and simple girls modern flower birthday theme (or baby shower or wedding)..k, first..how cute is this invite? The girls will be attending a favorite Broadway show, Mary Poppins, so with that in mind..we added some Phrases from the darling show and made it a lil more personalized and reflect the evening, for her guests. Happy Friday all and even better a labor day of a weekend..DID YOU KNOW Last year I went into labor on labor day..how ironic don't ya think? I think it's funny....I had my darling Max the following day. Can't believe he is almost one in a few days. He does the cutest thing...you know that part on finding nemo in the fish tank, where he is becoming part of the club? and they do that ahhh he wa hee oh ho ho..well max will say this and bounce up and down while he is saying it. It is the cutest thing. He does it as he climbs our stairs too like he his nemo going up the volcano. pretty darn cute! love him.

maybe I should be sleeping

It's NINE O'CLOCK !! CURFEW!! LIGHTS OUT! what movie? well its really 10:00 over here in UT but that quote went thru my mind and that i should really be asleep...yet I am not. I'm a lil excited for a few things down the road....so with popeye on my mind, if you didnt guess it..i thought how cute a illustration of a pig name olive would be..or perhaps another animal..just my creative mind at play...doodling & sketching away. It will be fun to see what comes out friday.

I should be asleep  but after today I want to feel like I got something done or some kind of relaxment (is that a word?). My day has been along one, my adorable almost 1 is, I believe acting like a 2 year old already. Not cool. He is not a 2 year old therefore he should not act like one, right? My son has learned "No", and told me twice NO and it made sense..does he understand the word? I believe he does.

His first birthday is a week away, he is growing so fast! I can't believe I have a one year old.

I am excited for friday..I have a few things to release for FRIDAY RELEASE DAY (i got to think of something cuter to say for friday release day) and we will see if i can wait that long :)

Bubble Gum Flying

Hello All, it is another friday..and just less than two weeks when My baby boy, Maximus turns one.
I don't believe how time can go by so fast. He is a darling lil ginger and such a joy...it has truly been the highlight of my life so far, him and his wonderful handsome of man whom we call daddy.

Being a new mom and all and just one year under my belt it is no easy task, some days are really hard and we all need outlets. I love having my art as an outlet and grasping new creative ideas, or doing them better.Well, so for my friday release day, it has been a project I gave to myself to bring back some of the fun in being a kid and some fun dreams or imagination play...I, for one has always wished I could fly high up in the clouds, like those squirrel suits-maybe one day I will try it. I have been skydiving and that is amazing in its own but just to dive and glide...wouldn't that be fun?   Well ok, as I get side tracked again (happens a lot) bringing myself back...so, I love bubble gum and the thought of flying..so why not combine the two ?  here you are... I may change it up but this is what I have and I am liking it a lot. Very fun!

My Lil Max's 1st Birthday

My lil boy, Max, will be one on Sept 7th. It is his FIRST! So, of course I have been getting so many ideas for his first special day..I am still trying to finalize what I want to do for it.
So, to all you mothers out there..what was your first first babys birthday theme? and what would you recommend or do differently??

These are what I have in mind so far.. DO a green color scheme with accents of blues of an alligator, turtle, and frog OR a train..Max does love choo choo trains..maybe a animal train or circus train?? hmmm so for now that is what i have been playing with. We will see if this is what i do. hehe

Race Cars

Hello all. YAY for Friday! It's friday right? Sometime my days and weeks all mesh together I do not know what day it is. Well I have been up to a few things, added more prints, party hats, cupcake wrappers, and party invites to my etsy store.

I love birthdays! It is so fun to design for them and get all these details that just make these darling kids feel extra special. We are all like kids, we love free stuff, especially if we like it. I love and still love getting paint swatches from home depot or material swatches. It just makes me happy. So of course we need to do more for our little kids birthday or big kid birthdays and have fun details for them to take home.

It is my husbands birthday on July 29th and I want to go all out with details details details.All he wants is go to Cowboys & Aliens and din din. perhaps on his next milestone of a birthday I can go ALL out :).

for now I will have to endulge on these kids birthdays and help you guys have some extra fun details to make your childs birthday or yours that much cooler. I am working on a Race Car theme..and well here is what I have so far and more will be coming and all added to my Etsy shop.

So, I thought it would be fun to do a line of animals with black bow ties...This is my first and also my attempt to get it out of my system since my husband didn't like the idea of bow ties for our wedding. Also being Valentines Day I threw in a heart. :) Happy Valentines Day to my cute boys, my husband Andy and Max, my lil love!! Muah!

January Birthdays

 January is a great month, not only is it MY birthday month but also my nieces, Bekah. So, I made her a birthday card of the cutest cat, she loves kitty cats, and well I fell in love with it too and didn't want to give it to her BUT of course I did, I just made me another one.. As i gave it to her she asked me if it was a "boy" kitty or a "girl" kitty, I told her it can be whatever she would like it to be. and so for a few seconds it was a boy, but it is now a girl.. as for mine..it is a boy kitty and I named him Harper. The card was quite more decorated with a cat bowl with 4 candles in it, and balloons and a lil sign that wished a happy birthday to the birthday girl! :)

Murals! Murals!

I was hired to do this mural with some 2nd graders at Escalante Elementary. They are the "Explorers"..so we thought of different fun locations in the world or the other "worlds" within this world of ours to paint. All of them did an awesome job and so rewarding to work with! Thank you you lil artists!


Koans Mural-
This was another fun mural. I didn't have much of a social single life with working full time, exercising 5 times a week, and this mural..but it was well worth it! It is so fun to show my ideas to clients and then for them to accept and bounce more ideas off of either to create the final result. The job included the mural of a treehouse & animals, bathtime, bowties, and just for kicks (12x12 paintings to go in slots of the book shelf). I love the bow ties added to the animals.
